Over 60 years of family tradition in making exquisite concert handmade guitars
The story of Bellido Guitar Workshop began in 1957 when Manuel Bellido started crafting guitars under the mentorship of master luthier Eduardo Ferrer, who guided him in the early stages of creating string instruments of exceptional quality. Over the years, Manuel passed down his passion for guitar-making and his deep knowledge to his children, training not only his brother José López Bellido, but almost an entire generation of luthiers, including his own sons, Jesús and Mauricio.
The Bellido family represents one of the most respected and authentic traditions within the Granada guitar-making school, which has given worldwide recognition to the city of Granada. The workshop, now run by Manuel, Jesús, and Mauricio, continues to embrace a deeply handcrafted approach, with each family member crafting their guitars individually while adhering to the same principles of quality, precision, and dedication.
The building process at our workshop is completely handmade. From the careful selection of the finest woods to the final string setup, we ensure that each guitar leaving our workshop is not just a musical instrument, but a unique piece filled with history and tradition. The Bellido family continues to create guitars that blend heritage craftsmanship with innovation, offering musicians the best of both worlds.
